# Remove a path on a volume

> Removes a file, or a directory and everything in it, like `rm -rf`. A path that is already gone is a success. The volume's root cannot be removed. The volume does not have to be mounted in a Sailbox. A Sailbox that mounts it sees the change within a few seconds of this call returning.

Create and operate Sailboxes over HTTP. Sailboxes are fast-booting virtual

Run commands, stream files, manage lifecycle and networking, and inspect
usage. Turning on SSH and building an image still require an SDK or the CLI.
